Michael Jordan Discovery Gallery

The Michael Jordan Discovery Gallery encourages the young and the young at heart to uncover the ecosystems within the Lower Cape Fear region. Get your hands on science as you learn about the geology, weather, and plants and animals of the upland, bottomland, and maritime forests that dominate our region's natural environment. In the exhibit, visitors can:

• Discover fossils and skeletons in hidden drawers
• Investigate how the longleaf pine ecosystem has changed over time
• Find evidence of woodland critters in the forest
• Build a tree puzzle by matching animals to their tree habitats
• Feed a Venus flytrap
• Crawl inside a beaver lodge
• Identify native versus ornamental plants
