[ARCHIVED] Calling All Artists – Hop on in and apply to bring Hoppy Times to the gardens in 2022

Hoppy Times at AirlieNEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC - New Hanover County's Airlie Gardens is looking for artists, or teams of artists, to decorate, paint, and adorn one of ten oversized fiberglass rabbits for the gardens' newest art exhibit, Hoppy Times.

The artist-designed rabbits will be placed throughout the grounds for guests to enjoy as part of their garden experience, from July through December 2022.

Artists must apply and designs will be selected based on creativity, craftsmanship, use of materials, the ability to appeal to all age groups, outdoor sustainability, and durability. Find artist applications, which are due by Tuesday, March 15.

"This new outdoor exhibit will give artists an opportunity to capture the playful and carefree nature of rabbits and share their interpretation with Garden visitors," said Guest Services Manager Rebecca Pearce. "Our annual art exhibit is always an anticipated addition to the gardens, and it attracts thousands of visitors each year."

This is the tenth consecutive year that Airlie Gardens has hosted an art exhibit. Read more information about Hoppy Times, and learn about sponsorship opportunities for the future exhibit.
