NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC – Organizers for the annual Art in the Arboretum art show and sale have announced entries will open August 10, 2020 for this year’s event currently slated for November 6-8, 2020.
Usually opening on June 1, art entries are delayed to August 10 to allow organizers to assess impacts of COVID-19 and whether the event can continue in the fall or be postponed.
“Waiting to open art entries until August 10 will give our largely volunteer-driven sponsoring organizations time to decide whether or not the 2020 art show can be held, and prevent having to potentially refund artists’ entry fees if Art in the Arboretum is postponed or canceled,” said New Hanover County Arboretum and Cooperative Extension Director Lloyd Singleton.
Art in the Arboretum art and sale entries will open August 10 and close mid-September. New and returning artists are welcome to submit entries, and notification of acceptance will be given in time for finishing touches to be put on work before the event November 6-8, 2020.
