About the Workshop:

Rainwater harvesting systems are extremely useful practices that have been used for thousands of years for capturing and supplementing water resources. Recently, more emphasis has been placed on using water harvesting systems to better manage stormwater runoff and reduce potable water consumption. This hands-on workshop, lead by experienced installers from NC State University - Cooperative Extension, local private industry, and local government will provide lessons learned through both classroom instruction, a tour of other water harvesting systems, and hands-on assembly of a 1,200 gallon system systems typically found throughout the state of North Carolina. Also included will be latest innovative design modifications for increasing the stormwater management benefits of these systems.

Who Should Attend
Landscapers, local gov't personnel, homeowners, business owners, engineers, landscape architects, Master gardeners, others involved in landscaping and stormwater.

NOTE: Part of this workshop will include outside assembly of a water harvesting system and a tour. Wear appropriate clothing, hat, and shoes, and bring sunscreen. Water and ice will be provided.
